Q: When do we use ISG CBSO over other pricing options?
A: ISG CBSO is designed to handle most contract-based solutions. However, highly customized deals may impact service-level response times, as additional teams may need to be engaged.
Q: What part number am I quoting? Why am I quoting the same PN at different prices?
A: One of the key strategic changes introduced with the ISG CBSO platform is the removal of rigid, part-number-based pricing. Instead, we use Charge Types (a different form of PN) to represent the services being offered. Pricing is then determined by other variables—such as serial numbers and the length of the service term.
Q: How do the discounts and approval process work?
A: Standard discounts will be pre-populated in the ISG CBSO quoting process. If special pricing is required, you can submit a special bid request for Lenovo to review and return—directly within the ISG CBSO tool.
Q: Can we sell across borders and bill in one country?
A: Unfortunately, billing cannot be handled on a multi-country basis.
Q: Do the Terms and Conditions flow from Lenovo to Distributor to the Partners?
A: As a Distributor, you do not need to create your own Terms and Conditions. If you accept Lenovo’s Terms and Conditions, you can allow them to flow through to your customers.
Q: What is the Service Level Agreement (SLA) from Lenovo for discount approval?
A: The typical SLA is 24 to 48 hours and may vary depending on the specifics of the request.
Q: Will End-Customers or Partners be able to view their active contract?
A: ISG CBSO does not currently provide direct visibility to End-Customers or Partners. However, a PDF copy of the contract can be generated and shared with the relevant parties.
Q: Who will issue the End-Customer contract document—Lenovo or the Distributor?
A: Lenovo will issue the document to you, the Distributor. You will then forward the document to the Partner, who will deliver it to the End-Customer.
Q: Will any other documents be sent with the contract?
A: Yes. Lenovo will provide Excel files and the contract to the Distributor. You can then decide which documents to share with the Partner and/or Customer.
Q: Will Authorized Warranty Service Provider (AWSP) Partners be able to deliver against these contracts?
A: Yes, they will.
Q: Can we use this tool for both IDG and ISG products?
A: CBSO is available for both IDG and ISG products. However, the IDG CBSO platform is relatively new and has not yet been rolled out for self-service use by the Channel Community. For IDG contract options, please contact an APOS Sales Representative.
Q: If a serial number is still within warranty, can we still add it to the contract, so it appears on the renewal notice at the time of expiration?
A: Yes, if the devices are ISG machines.
Q: Does ISG CBSO support auto-renewals?
A: Currently, we do not auto-renew coverage. However, active contracts can be flagged so a renewal quote is automatically generated. A notification will be sent to the contract owner encouraging them to take action.
Q: How long will it take to receive a quote back?
A: If you use the ISG CBSO platform to create the quote yourself, it will be generated instantly. If you request a quote from Lenovo Operations, it typically takes 24 to 48 hours.
